The Republican Party Brand

Branding is the lifeblood and foundation of powerful organizations around the world. Think of the well known brands you use everyday - Coca Cola, Delta Airlines, Apple, American Express. These famous brands use imagery, tone, and consistency to convey their brand promise to the consumer.

The ND Republican Party uses its platform and resolutions to communicate its brand promise to the people of our state. It is a set of ideals that are timeless and provide a baseline of beliefs that guide our public discourse. Ideals like individual liberty, personal responsibility, limited government, and the rule of law provide the core conservative principles that define our party.

When voters receive their ballot at their polling place they are offered choices. In most cases, partisan races offer the choice between our two major political parties - democrat or republican. While there are some exceptions, I would say the vast majority of voters identify with one party or the other. The party platforms are so distinctively different that the choice on the ballot is rarely between the personalities and competency of the candidates, but rather the political ideology evidenced in their party affiliation.

So what are we to do when public policy outcomes in a supermajority state don't reflect the platform values of our party? When our legislature is split 125-16 between republicans and democrats and we don't see conservative priorities like school choice and child protections in libraries make it across the finish line? How do we respond? We stand up. We get involved. We make our voices heard.

The Freedom League exists to give structure and action to our voices. We are organizing around the principles that unite us as conservatives to be unapologetically bold.
